7:45 – 8:15: Get picked up from your hotel

8:15 - 11:30: Follow the newest highway connecting Hanoi and Hai Phong.

Upon arrival at Station number 17 – OVERNIGHT CRUISE PORT, Tuan Chau Maria, Ha Long passengers will be welcomed by receptionist at La Casta’s waiting lounge.

11:30 – 12:00: After taking a rest, our high speed tender will transfer you to the main boat (Around 25 minutes).

Get onboard and warmly welcome from La Casta crew team with welcome drink.

After that, you will be given a short briefing about La Casta Cruise and safety guideline at our restaurant.

Complete the check-in procedure and check-into our suite cabins.

13:00: Enjoy a lunch in the restaurant. La Casta Cruise start to depart for the voyage to discover the Lan Ha Bay.

15:45: Visit the Ba Trai Dao area and the natural lagoon of Lan Ha Bay – this area includes the beach breaths a romantic atmosphere and three smaller islets like three giant peaches on the sea. You can join with our activities such as: kayaking, swimming, sightseeing and explore the Ba Trai Dao area.

8:30 – 9:30: Transfer to Day Boat and sailing further on Lan Ha Bay toward Ba Trai Dao, Van Boi Area and Viet Hai village

9:40 – 10:30: Guests will be taken to Viet Hai village and discover the 100 years old with plenty of interesting things. Cycling around, take a deep breath of fragrance paddy field, trying fish massage or talking with gentle and charm local people.

10:30 – 12:00: Kayaking and exploring hidden charm of Lan Ha Bay, places that you can only reach by boat and you may make it only once in your whole life.

12:30 – 13:30: Return to Day Boat and enjoy lunch.

14:00 – 15:00: Walking or swimming at the most beautiful beach of Lan Ha Bay – Ba Trai Dao or Van Boi Beach.

15:00 – 16:30: Leisure time on Day Boat and return to the pickup places.

We visited over the new year. We would highly recommend this cruise. The itinerary was varied with interesting activities (visiting a pearl farm, a fishing village, kayaking and seeing caves). The fantastic host Duke made a fantastic effort at night too, playing games, karaoke, and setting up a lovely new year’s party. The clientele on our particular cruise was adult, largely consisting of couples in their late 20s and 30s and families with adult children.The food was delicious, with multi-course meals 3 times a day which would never leave you hungry. But be aware, if you say you have an allergy or intolerance you’ll likely eat the same food just without those things.The boat was not particularly modern (a cynic might say it looked run-down) but it was comfortable and absolutely did the job.We found a good deal for this cruise on booking.com and definitely can’t imagine finding a cruise with better value for money.Less

Made moreso by a great group of people, Mr Happy - the barman and flutist, and our tour guide Duke who’s funny jokes and intense knowledge of the history and area was unsurpassed.The experience of the boat was what I’d expect of an old junket, and perhaps this needs a little upgrading or maintenance. The food was plentiful; the bar stocked (and in US$?), and the common areas always kept neat.We were the unlucky couple with their room next to the kitchen/engine on the first floor and perhaps this room should not be used as the noise and commotion are often a hindrance.As a group we were not expecting the crew and company to do anything special for New Years Eve but we’re happily surprised with the party, decorations and karaoke they planned. Each crew member has a different creative skill and we were lucky they decided to share it with us! Duke with the singing and MR happy on the flute!Overall, the itinerary was packed - which at times was a little bit of a surprise for something we thought would be a little more chilled. Nonetheless with such an amazing group, crew, tour guide we all partook and had that much more of an amazing experience because of it!Duke was fantastic as a tour guide from the pickup from the hotel right until the drop off. And the crew was always helpful to the best of their abilities. Most of all bai tu long bai was an experience unto itself. Gorgeous; relatively sparsely populated; and still somewhat untouched.Would recommend this to anyone who hasn’t done the area. In particular the fishing village and pearl farm! Booked this through my hotel in the old quarter (Hanoi 3b Premier) and it was the highlight of my trip. I was picked up from the hotel by my guide "Duke" and we were off in the morning around 8:30 to the much anticipated Bai Tu Long Bay cruise. The journey to Hong Gai harbour to the boat was about 3.5 hours and Duke told us about a few local facts and some tips on viatnamese language and how it's spoken. Our 'pitstop' was at an artisan's warehouse kind of an establishment where we had the chance to look at some amazing sculptures, paintings and goods made disabled viatnamese artists (and buy it as well if interested). There were a lot of things on display and we had a full 30 min for bathroom break, snacks and drinks.Once that was done, our driver "handsome" took us all the way and dropped us to the pier where the swan office was. After 5 min there, we boarded our tender and we're ferried to our junk (first picture).Since I was solo, I was worried about the cabin that would be provided but my word was I wrong! It was fabulous! You are provided the usual bath accessories, towel and a duvet (which was useful since it was cold at night) and a pair of flip flops( which were useful when we went kayaking and to the beach later on)This was followed by a briefing and then a 5 course meal. In the evening we were taken to a spot near where we would anchor for the night and we all did some kayaking to a nearby secluded beach.Note: Low tide affected the chance for swimming as in Duke's own words the surface was 'spiky'. But you really don't want to swim in December :) do you? Kayaking is the recommended activity. You will get wet in the splashing around so lock your wallet/passport in your cabin and lock it.After it became dark, we returned back on board and had a quick shower. Post which was happy hours at the bar! You order your drinks, socialize with the rest of the passengers and Duke breaks out an activity based game for us to participate (never a full moment). A 5 course dinner followed this around 8 and then we were left to our own. You could do some squid fishing if you are interested. It was windy and cold so I didn't partake in that. We headed back to our cabins when we were done socializing and doing what we're doing.Next morning at 6:30 was a round of Tai chi. This is highly recommended so don't drink too much the previous day :)We then had a buffet breakfast (Western style) The last activity was to go to a place to explore some fabulous caves. Again our man Duke explained everything about it. We were taken to a Sandy Beach on the same island and then after a few clicks taken back on our tender back to ship.Post this was again a 5 course meal and we checked out. After coming back on share the guests going back to their respective destinations had arrangements waiting for transport. I boarded the bus back to hanoi with "Handsome" and "Duke". Was dropped back to my hotel by 5pmA few pointers:1) Pack light. You don't need much for 2 days and 1 night2) It was windy when I went so don't underestimate the climate. Even if it's warm on shore, it's completely different on the deck. Keep a warm jacket.3) The activities will keep you busy so if you want to lounge around in the day time, staring at the stunning landscape, choose the 3 days 2 nights option.4) Give your food choices to your guide when he asks for it clearly on the way to the harbour. Remember the crew is working with set lunches and have to plan in advance.5) You will get wet while kayaking or swimming. Please plan according to that and the climate.6) There are about 150-200 steps leading to the caves. Bring good sport shoes with grip.7) Last but not least, tip the staff if possible:) They spend about 2 months on board with a week off in between at a stretch. Be considerate. Also tip the guide and driver if he pleases you with the service. They are real stars in my book and add to the experienceLess

Linh is such a warm and humorous person and you will instantly feel at ease and at home when she is around.Good job Swan Cruise for having such a good crew, driver and guides in your team.Two things to note:1. If you are going Hanoi supermarket, you can get the green bean cake at a cheaper price instead of getting it at the stopover.2. The cabin is small. If possible, don’t bring your luggage with you.Less

Awesome two night boat trip exploring bai tu long bay. Minh/Marcus was the best tour guide that you can ask for and I would recommend booking a cruise that he will be working!! As others have mentioned the food is plentiful and delicious enough for the price. Chi our tour guide, he was very good. He’s very informative and funny which made the tour ran smoothly.The journey from Hanoi to Hong bay Pier took about 4 hours. And the seat on the coach were not that comfortable especially if you are a really tall person. Zeker een aanrader voor 2 dagen en een nacht. De busreis van Hanoi naar de boten is wel een beetje lang maar als je je erop instelt is het prima te doen. WiFi aan boord van de bus:-)De hutten op de boot en het eten zijn super. Ook de gidsen zijn geweldig. Aardig, behulpzaam en kundig. Wij zaten in team David:-).
